Criminals do not stop at the county
or even state lines. The Transportation Unit of the Court Services
Office consists of deputies who spend much of their time on the road
transporting prisoners. Transportation deputies travel
across the
state to county and regional jails to pickup subjects arrested on
outstanding Madison County warrants. These deputies also travel
outside the state to pickup prisoners found outside of Ohio. These prisoners are then transported to the
Tri-County Regional Jail for
incarceration. Finally, the Transportation Unit transports sentenced
felons to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction to begin
their sentences.
