The Ohio Revised Code adopted the
traditional duties of the Sheriff.
Each of Ohio's eighty-eight
Sheriffs serves as officers of the court and keepers of the jail.
While all deputies are responsible for serving court orders, the day to
day interaction with the courts where prisoners are concerned is performed
by the Madison County Sheriff's Court Services Office. These
deputies handle various tasks including transportation of
prisoners to and
from court, acting as a court liaison between the
Tri-County Regional Jail
and the courts, and providing security for the Courts of Common
Pleas, Domestic Relations, and Juvenile/Probate Court.
